Ageing..

You are a small baby of not more than a year,
All your daily chores are taken care of by your mum,
You live life without caring a damn about anyone and wanna continue like a king,
But, you do grow up!

You become a primary school student,
Home work is not your work, but your mom’s headache,
Chocolates and icy delights is all you want to have,
But, you do grow up!

You go higher up to become a secondary school chap,
Studies start becoming a worry coz envying the smarter kids is all that your parents teach you to do,
However, games and friends mean the whole world to you,
But, you do grow up!

You are done with your matriculation to get the lovely “collegian” tag,
Horrifying words like “career” and “success “ revolve around to frighten you,
The sweet smile of your classroom chic and bunking classes to roam around are enough to keep you happy,
But, you do grow up!

Done with college, you consider yourself a “scholastic graduate”,
You somehow land up with a job that makes you feel sick after some time,
However, a bachelor freaking out on weekends late until night seems rocking,
But, you do grow up!

You find the hair on your head getting sparse by the day,
Sitting on your office chair for hours makes your tummy bulge gradually,
Parents force you to get married,
Some get happy at this thought while it lets the others down,
But, you do grow up!

Life plunges into a circle of work and family,
Work at the workplace, responsibilities at home,
However the company of your life-mate keeps you moving,
But, you do grow up!

Children, you pamper, will make your smooth life…. hamper,
Ailments will take you for granted,
People, environment, your looks and your health will all make you realize
THAT YOU HAVE GROWN UP!!!!

Growing up,
Haresh.

Beauty

We have learnt that ‘Beauty’ is an abstract term and usually associated it with everything that’s not viz. a face, clothes, ornaments and so on.
I believe beauty is not just what is seen but also felt and observed as

It lies in the love of a mother
And the words of a saint

In the dedication of a worker
And the devotion of a pilgrim

In the passion of an artist
And the spirit of a sportsman

In the approach of a struggler
And the achievements of a legend

In the composure of a lady
And the demeanor of a gentleman

In the application of thoughts
With serenity in mind

Beautify your thoughts, discover the beauty in you and make your life beautiful.

Admiring beauty,
Haresh

Summarizing the year gone by

Some reasons to forget the year 2006:

· Sachin was at his worst and Sania fell drastically in the world rankings.

· Bollywood did not come up with anything great.

· Authentic Indian pop music almost died.

· Mumbai got rampaged by tragic blasts.

· Roads had potholes all over and traffic got worse.

· Literacy and employment rates remained nearly unimproved in our under-developed states.

· Nothing substantial was done to curb Global warming, AIDS and Nuclear proliferation.

Some reasons to cherish the year 2006:

There would be many but I don’t remember any except that……….

Purpose of human life

Why would Jimmy Carter, former American president of the age of 82 would come to Lonavala and lay down bricks on his own for building houses for the poor??

Why would Gandhi, one of the finest barristers, sacrifice the love and respect of the people of South Africa and come back to his country??

Why would Warren Buffet – the investor of the millennium, one of the richest men in the world, donate half of his wealth towards charity??

Why would Mother Teressa devote her whole life for the orphans, downtrodden and the underprivileged??

Why would Bill Gates handover his billion dollar organization to someone and live the rest of his life for a social cause??

What makes these great men give up their professional lives and tread along a path which isn’t about success??

Well, the answer is….

“Help” – The ultimate purpose of human life.

Why do you want to earn more??

You want to earn more because:

Reason 1: You want to stay rich all your life.
Bitter Fact: The richest is the one whose pleasures are the cheapest.

Reason 2: You want to have all the luxuries.
Bitter Fact: The best things in life are free.

Reason 3: You want to bring up your children to become better businessmen, professionals.
Bitter Fact: Its important that they become better humans first.

Reason 4: You want to make a name for yourself in the society.
Bitter Fact: What’s in a name?

Reason 5: You want to become popular.
Bitter Fact: The popularity curve like all other curves falls as sharply as it rises.

Reason 6: Money can buy all the pleasures.
Bitter Fact: Its peace (which money can’t buy) that lasts.

However, ask yourself and u still want to earn more.

Have you ever thought………

Have you ever thought………

Why can’t you go alone to watch a movie at the theatre?

Why do you want all your friends to taste the delicacy that was specially made for you by your mother?

Why do you miss your colleague (when he is not present at the office) even when you cannot think of anything apart from your work?

Why can’t you resist discussing with your friends about a movie that you just saw, about a book that you just read or a song that you liked.

Why does the good news that comes for you is not actually good until it is told to your best friend?

Why do you feel for people suffering from a calamity that struck at a place thousands of miles away from where you are?

Its because humans cannot live without the two fine processes, sharing and caring.

What makes you smile?

What makes you smile?

Is it the feel of the tender rays of the sun on a cold winter morning?

Is it the first drizzle of the monsoon that you get to see through the window?

Is it the sound of the birds chirping on trees on the verge of sunset?

Is it the glance at the sky when it is not so clear but the weather is pleasant?

Is it the light pause or the soft interlude of your favorite romantic song?

Is it the sweetest expression of the sweetest kid in your family?

Is it the cool greeting from your loved one?

Is it when you are admired by the person you want to get admired by?

Is it at the achievement for which you toiled for years?

If none of these make you smile, just smile for me as I am smiling for you.

Hope I lived up to this moment of yours and made you smile.

Keep smiling,
Haresh.

India poised

Remember the days when it used to take years to get a telephone connection
Today it’s as quick as it can get and no wires attached
Who knows…a time will come when you won’t talk to people unless you see them thru your phone.

Remember the days when you used to travel a hell a lot of distance to get a railway ticket reservation
Today it can be done sitting at home with the click of a button
Who knows… a time will come when you could be offered discounts on buying more tickets (pray for privatization).

Remember the days when scooters refused to start in the morning unless tilted
Today your thumb does all the wonders
Who knows…a time will come when the making of every automobile on road will involve more electronics than mechanics.

Remember the days when you had to stand in a queue for almost an hour to get your bank statements updated
Needless to mention, we all deal with virtual banks (at every nook and corner) nowadays.
Who knows…a time will come when a mere look at some sensor would help you transact (Biotechnology will make its mark one day)

Remember the days when entertainment at home came once a week when DoorDarshan guys somehow managed to telecast a movie
Can we remember the names of any single-screen theatres today?? Do you know how many TV news channels (they alone are entertaining) are aired??
Who knows…a time will come when mobile phones will become full fledged TV sets.

Remember the days when air fares were so high that one used to save all his life to fly once
Today you talk of long distances, you talk of planes. Trains cost almost as much.
Who knows…a time will come when airports will outnumber railway junctions.

The future does not seem too far from the present. Keep dreaming….Keep Believing. India is poised already and poised enough.

Haresh.

Somebody for Someone

Some spend their entire life to earn a living
Some live their entire life without the need of earning

Some stay in homes where there is place for many…and
Many stay in homes where there is place for some.

Some dance, sing and play to gather crowds….while
Some stay handicapped for life.

Some are loved so much by so many
Some do not find love for themselves in any

One cannot question why this world has a biased stand for some.
All one can do is………

Behind The Scenes

When you are asked that what is so special according to you in your favorite song, the usual reply is that the singer has a soothing voice, the lyrics are rich, the tune is touchy, the beat is funky etc. However, we fail to notice that, the making of a great song needs the contribution of myriad sounds that come from wonderful instruments like:

♪ The Guitar: that sets the scale, without which the rhythm is meaningless.

♪ The Piano: Fine tunes the melody.

♪ The Drums: Keeps the rhythm upbeat.

♪ The Sitar: Makes the song divine.

♪ The Tabla: Pulls you back to your eastern roots.

♪ The Congo and Bongo: Small…yet effective. They set the tempo.

♪ The flute: Purifies the song.

♪ The Sarangi: Adds soul.

♪ The Violin: Indispensable, it makes the music….flow.

There are infinite instruments to add to the list. Remember, there is a musician behind each of them. When rehman says that ‘If you listen carefully, there is music in everything’, there is a musician in it too. So, when the next time you go and buy an album, please flip its cover and read about the musicians who have rendered to the compositions, cheer the humble artists behind the artist when you go to a music concert, believe me – they will hear you.

Note: The above write-up does not apply to those who follow remixes and DJ stuff (I call them gadget oriented, press-button musicians).

Savoring true music,
Haresh.
